Denver producer/dj Sean Biddle has wasted no time banging down the door to the house music industry. This year, 12 of his original tracks will hit the streets off different reputable labels such as Chicago's Catalyst Records. He also has helped launched a new house label, Colorecordings, featuring both up-and-coming as well as established talent within the house music genre. Biddle - best known for his Mile High Club release on Om Records and his remix of The Lift on Daisey Age Recordings- may be a corn-fed white boy from Champaign, Ill., but his musical soul is all funky bangin' Chicago house. He started his musical career 10 years ago playing keyboard in a high school band. He graduated to dance music several years later after moving to Colorado and being exposed to the rave scene. He had his first white-label release at age 20 and has been moving up the ranks of house music ever since. His recently inked doublepack EP deal with Terry Mullen's Catalyst Records will include tracks by both Biddle and his music partner, IHR recording artist DJ Vitamin D. Along with the Catalyst release, the two have records coming out on Colorado-based Terraform: Balance, with Hakan Lidbo remix, and Get High which will be out later in the year. They also hooked up with Chicago's DJ Nique for a release off San Francisco's Jump Records. In between producing his own tracks, Biddle has been working on remixes for labels like Defected/Fluential and Camouflage. As if he wasn't busy enough making music for other labels, this past year, Biddle, with DJ Vitamin D,also founded a new house label. Although still in its infancy, Colo.recordings boasts a number of well-known international artists on its future-releases roster. These artists include Hipp-E, Tony, DJ Nique, The Pound Boys and Brother Brown. The first scheduled release off Colo.recordings, Cab Driver (produced by Sean Biddle and DJ Vitamin D, remix by Hipp-E), has already made its white-label rounds, garnering recognition from top Djs like Sneak, Roger Sanchez and Junior Sanchez. It is scheduled to come out this year. More label information will be available soon at www.colorecordings.com. |
